Success Factors:

The successful Systems Integration Engineer will have strong engineering and networking skills with the ability to learn our products quickly.  The candidate must also be creative and able to think outside the box for technical problem resolution.  Finally, this individual must have strong customer interface skills, and the ability to manage technical scope of integration responsibilities. 


General Purpose of Job:   

Responsible for designing, defining, and integrating systems into complex customer operational environments and/or preparing studies and analyzing existing systems prior to implementation of our technical product software solutions.   


Essential Duties and Responsibilities Typical for Most Positions: 

·         Determines system specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. 

·         Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system. 

·         Identifies, analyzes and resolves program support deficiencies. 

·         Confers with other functional team personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develop corrective action, method improvement to resolve problems for complex issues.

·         Tracks customer/project issues and drives resolution.

·         Responsible for systems level development and testing requirements involves finalizing approved Vendor Lists and design of components which are unavailable.

·         Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks.

·         Prepares and configures our product software for integration into complex customer systems.

·         Completes installation, testing and acceptance of our product software in complex customer systems.

·         Must be available to travel 80% of travel time.  Travel may include extended stays for up to 2 weeks at a time.

Technical Skills:


Minimum Required:

·         Working knowledge of LAN/WAN networks.

o    Physical addressing & IP subnetting, OSI & TCP/IP models

·         Working knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems

·         Working knowledge of PC hardware 


·         Experience in an environment supporting dispatching function extremely applicable.

·         Ability to establish, build, configure and support Layer 3 technologies

o    Any experience with routed multicast

o    IP Telephony (VoIP) integration/support

·         Ability to establish, build, configure and support Layer 2 technologies

o    IGMP, STP, VTP, Trunking, EtherChannel, etc

·         Microsoft Server Technologies:

o    Experience with Active Directory/LDAP, WSUS

o    Experience with SQL & IIS

·         LMR/DMR experience

·         SNMP management, Wireshark, Visio and other troubleshooting/network tools

·         Experience with virtualization technologies: Hardware/Software technologies

·         Experience with ERP systems, Enterprise Architecture or similar business process analysis.

·         Experience or exposure to software development methodologies (SDLC) or development environments.

·         Development and/or scripting skills.



·         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or equivalent educational/experience

·         CCNA or equivalent experience preferred

·         VCP or equivalent experience preferred

·         MCP or equivalent experience preferred

·         Any security certifications a definite plus (CISSP, CEH, Security+)



Minimum 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
